The SE Hollowbody Standard Piezo is one guitar that can cover any gig in style. When using the magnetic output jack in isolation, the piezo battery is bypassed completely, acting as a failsafe (in this scenario, the magnetic pickups still work even if the piezo battery has run out of juice). Alternatively, players can plug into the jacks separately, so the guitar can run magnetic pickups into an amp and run the piezo through an acoustic amp or DI into the soundboard. Players can plug into the “Mix/Piezo” jack and use the individual volume controls to blend the 58/15 “S” pickups with the piezo’s acoustic tones. The instrument is designed with two discrete volume controls (magnetics and piezo) and output jacks (magnetics and mix/piezo). Additional appointments include a 22-fret wide fat neck, bone nut, and PRS adjustable Piezo stoptail bridge. Boasting 58/15 LT “S” pickups and an LR Baggs/PRS Piezo system, the SE Hollowbody Standard Piezo provides musicians with the versatility of wielding both acoustic and electric tones in one instrument. I only used Input, shunts, and Output blocks (no amps, cabs, or effects) into a pair of Celestion F12-X200 cabs and a pair of Atomic CLR Neo cabs. Damn!Ī couple hours later she was all together again and I've played around for about 30 minutes trying out the 6 toggle positions and 6 coil split positions. Note: Pilots use checklists for a reason!ĥ) Connecting one lead to ground that was supposed to go to a different location on the push/pull pot. Just doing the coil split would have been much easier.Ĥ) Creating general schematic notes rather than detailed notes and a checklist. They only had red and black wires in them.ģ) The number of connections and their routing is a little daunting. The modified diagram above did help though.Ģ) Converting the pickup colors to the colors of the wiring I used to connect everything. Some of the things that made it a little confusing:ġ) Converting the colors from the diagram to the color scheme of these pickups. Found it, then had to pull everything out of the guitar to work on it. The coil split seemed to work for the toggle positions that worked.īroke out the DVM and started measuring for shorts of the neck PU. Only 3 of the six toggle positions produced sound. Sounded great! Switched to the normal neck and bridge position and. Now boasting a newly-designed LR Baggs/PRS Piezo system, the SE Hollowbody II Piezo provides.
